This is how one aligns with winter’s energy and nourishes the principle of storage.
If one acts against this, the Kidney will be harmed. In spring, weakness or numbness in the limbs may occur, and the capacity to generate new life will be diminished.
Thus it is said:
In spring and summer, one should nourish yang;
In autumn and winter, one should nourish yin.
Follow this natural order, and life will flourish.

Rebellion against the seasons gives rise to calamities and disease;
Alignment with them prevents severe illnesses from arising.
